Dr. Anthony T. Stoneburg is a retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major (CSM) and a seasoned leader in military recruiting. A native of Los Alamitos, California, he began his Army career in March 1990 as a Counter Signal Intelligence Specialist. His early assignments included roles at the U.S. Army Signal Operation Detachment at Fort Georg
Dr. Anthony T. Stoneburg is a retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major (CSM) and a seasoned leader in military recruiting. A native of Los Alamitos, California, he began his Army career in March 1990 as a Counter Signal Intelligence Specialist. His early assignments included roles at the U.S. Army Signal Operation Detachment at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, and as Detachment NCOIC at the 214th Military Intelligence Company in Owings Mills, Maryland.
In June 1994, CSM Stoneburg transitioned into Army recruiting, serving in various capacities within the Baltimore Recruiting Battalion. His leadership roles included On-Production Station Commander and Limited Production Station Commander in the Columbia and James River Recruiting Companies. Promoted to Master Sergeant in February 2003, he assumed the position of First Sergeant of the Las Vegas Recruiting Company, Salt Lake City Recruiting Battalion. His subsequent assignments encompassed First Sergeant of the Newark Recruiting Company, Senior Master Trainer at the 1st Recruiting Brigade, Director of Recruiter Exercise Soldier Support Institute at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the Afghanistan National Police Recruiter Assistance Team with NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan. He also served as Operations Sergeant Major for the Kansas City Recruiting Battalion, Command Sergeant Major of the Sacramento Recruiting Battalion, and Command Sergeant Major for the U.S. Army Recruiting and Retention School. His final assignment was as the Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky.
After retiring from the Army, Dr. Stoneburg pursued higher education, earning a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA). Dr. Stoneburg also worked with Avant Healthcare as their Director of Talent Acquisition.He has since applied his extensive military leadership experience to roles in the civilian sector, including as a Senior Technical Recruiter with Amazon. He is also active in veteran advocacy, often participating in events and discussions aimed at supporting and empowering fellow veterans.
